Here is a refurbished and fine-tuned, Japanese made laminate shakuhachi by the Golden Phoenix Co in Japan.

I personally fine-tuned this instrument for the highest playing level possible. Professional contemporary shakuhachi players in Japan have these instruments fine-tuned to individual tastes due to musical needs. When it first came to me, the cork had been worn and loose fitting to the point where it leaked air and was not functional. he cork has since been replaced. The flute is guaranteed to last a lifetime under normal shakuhachi care.

1.8 Pro Level TENSEI Line SEIKADO Shakuhachi FLute

This is a recently restored SEIKADO professional shakuhachi instrument.

This is a high quality pro-level made by the Kitahara Family, three generations of shakuhachi craftsmen in Kyoto. I collected it in 2014 while I was on an Asian cultural council shakuhachi grant in Japan. This flute was originally made around the late 1960’s or early 70’s. It plays like flutes in the $4,000 range I played in his shop. It had a small crack and loose joint. Everything had been repaired and it is guaranteed to last a lifetime under normal shakuhachi care.
