Here is a nice JIANSHI shakuhachi made around the 1950’s. Teh. joint was glue together by a previous owner. This does not affect the flute negatively in anyway. It has a hefty, wide-bore feels solid. With the slightly larger finger holes, it’s perfect for the player with larger hands who prefer a flute with a bigger sound. Yet, ity is quite capable of nuanced playing.
This is a hefty, wide bore flute with slightly larger finger-holes. The blowing edge is original, shaped more like an old Myoan. Flute. This one is relatively easy for anyone who can already play.
