Here is a nice JIANSHI shakuhachi made around the 1950’s. Teh. joint was glue together by a previous owner. This does not affect the flute negatively in anyway. It has a hefty, wide-bore feels solid. With the slightly larger finger holes, it’s perfect for the player with larger hands who prefer a flute with a bigger sound. Yet, ity is quite capable of nuanced playing.

This is a hefty, wide bore flute with slightly larger finger-holes. The blowing edge is original, shaped more like an old Myoan. Flute. This one is relatively easy for anyone who can already play. It is well in tune to itself around A=438hz. It has a big sound. The joint was glued together by a previous owner, but this does not affect the flute negatively in anyway. It feels like a very solid and hefty instrument perfect for the player with larger hands
