Edo Period 2.0 Shakuhachi
Here is an authentic fine playing Edo period Komuso shakuhachi in the 2.0 length pitched around C. It has a Myoan Horn inlay and a sanded down surface, all done in a typical fashion seen on many early Komuso style flutes. All the advanced fingerings work so this instrument is not only a great collectors item but a player can use it to perform period shakuhachi music for authenticity.
There is a 7” repaired crack along the left side of the flute. It has been professionally bound with topical cord and lacquered over with authentic urushi. This expert work was performed in Japan. Instruments of this age that perform so well are rare and it is due to John Singer efforts that this historical flute is here now. Because of the economical times, I am making this flute available for a dear friend. He is open to a respectable best offer. I have evaluated this flute and it is in pristine condition in both looks and playability. I am also offering full support should the new owner ever need servicing. Please feel free to ask any questions what so ever.

The crack. It is barely noticeable.
The finish is sanded smooth and aged with dark bamboo patina.
