2.4 wide bore bass shakuhachi made from Authentic Japanese Madake bamboo harvested by my teacher Kinya Sogawa in Japan. Pitched between G# and A.
The bamboo was cured for around 10 years in Japan and the spent 4 addition years in my shop in New York City before it was crafted into a instrument. My Chikusing models are essentially Jinashi style natural bore flutes that has my Spot Tuning Method to enhance response, tone color and balance. This flute is made for the Dokykou style Honkyoku played on Jinashi flutes in the way I learned it in Japan. Reclaimed Kinko Style Ivory utaguchi inlay. Urushi stained root.
