2.0 Earth Model Root end shakuhachi. Jinashi style natural bore with minimal Spot Tuning to enhance response, fluidity, tonal flexibility and volume.
Pitch well in C at A=440hz. This flute was destined to be a higher grade Chikusing Model instrument but developed a superficial crack so I finished it as a higher grade introductory Earth Model. Authentic Japanese Shuai Urushi lacquer on natural (no inlay) utaguchi to maintain a sharp blowing edge. Also in the bore and root to prevent moisture damage and help project the sound. This flute has a very well-shaped bore as a Jinashi flute and plays like my higher end Jinashi style flutes valued around $800. All fingerings work for all styles of solo Honyoku shakuhachi music. It has both my Chikusing and Earth Hanko stamps.
