The experience of the shakuhachi is available to anyone, from the individual seeking peace in a tranquil tone to the experienced musician who wants to study traditional shakuhachi music. The shakuhachi began as a zen tool in the hands of Komuso Monks. Over a few centuries, the simple bamboo flute became a finely crafted instrument. The shakuhachi can be enjoyed through many approaches and I am happy to share any part of my journey.
It is my obligation to share the shakuhachi in the highest light. Performing and making are my first priorities but these days I find it necessary to make time to teach.
