Shakuhachi Workshop, Gigs etc..

Hi everyone, Winter here in NYC has finally given way to spring (slightly). Its almost 54 degrees today, but it was snowing last Thursday.
Just a note on my schedule this week. I’m performing TAMUKE at a memorial this evening at NYU for a Jeffrey Seinfeld. Tomorrow, I’m playing with Richard Ebihara of SLANT at the Asian American Arts Allience Town Hall. It’s a special benefit event for Japan Relief: http://aaartsalliance.org/events/special-japan-benefit-town
On May 6-8. I’ll be leading a shakuhachi making workshop at Zen Mountain Monastery: http://www.mro.org/zmm/retreats/detail/2011/ART1151.php
As usual, there are repairs and custom commissions to work on in the shop. Those interested in availability should inquire directly as I am never able to list finished flutes. They are usually sold before they get to that stage.

On the home front, Jet was a hit at Rock Star day at his school. Some of the mom’s thought his tattoos looked too real. ( I have a college degree in Fine Art).

We were out of town this week to visit our new nephew. I played San An, the Honkyoku for a safe and easy birth. for him when he was in the womb. I heard the delivery was safe and easy (to some degree
He sure is cute though.
Enjoy the weather!
