This one just came in. A beautiful old Tadasuke shakuhachi. The utaguchi was customized, maybe by someone other than the maker. Or, perhaps the maker customized it for the owner. In any case, the utaguchi was deeper than the standard so playing it was a little difficult. The angle at the top was also very steep so I was able to correct the dept and angle by shaving off the top towards the front. It’s now standardized so that most players will feel comfortable playing it.

Also need to adjust Go no Hi since someone did some bore work. See the blue tape and wet paper for spot tuning.
