I’ve been a little distracted by a DIY project this week. As the kids grow, we find ourselves trying to manage all their stuff. So, I’ve playing hooky from shakuhachi work and learning on the job about Japanese inspired design and carpentry. I’ve found that the Japanese saws and files I used for cutting and shaping bamboo also works magnificently well for carpentry

The files remove material so effortliessly and offers great control on curves.

I’m in the process of letting some of my shakuhachi collection go.If you’re looking for a unique shakuhachi, give me a holler.

Fall is here. We went apple picking last weekend.
