Weddings and Shakuhachi

Perry Yung Shakuhachi Image

I played at the wedding of my dear friends this weekend in Newbury, New Hampshire. I have played shakuhachi for many weddings and often find myself playing Minyo inspired music rather than honkyoku. Press the play arrow to hear this flute.

Hear the scale and an excerpt from Kumoigishi. The thumb hole is a little flat in Kan (Go no Hi). I can tune it but rather not mess with history.
